Is an introduction in order?

Our growing church has been serving Leland, North Carolina for many years, beginning on the back porch of a home behind Piggly Wiggly. The current location is on Wayne Street, just a few hundred feet from the Leland Fire House off of Village Road.

My name is Jay Merritt and I have been Victory's Pastor since 2006. My wife, Diane and I, and our two sons moved to Leland in 2006 to serve the people here. Our youngest son is attending North Brunswick High School.  Our middle son is attending college at North Carolina Wesleyan in Rocky Mount.  Our third and oldest son graduated from the University of Delaware in 2007.  He was married on 06/07/08 and is currently living in Delaware.  They are expecting their first child (our first grand child) in August 2009.

I like to remember Jesus as being a hard working carpenter, working with His hands and following in the trade of His father, Joseph. Ever wonder why, at the end of His ministry, He allowed nails to be driven into His hands? I believe he did it to show us His power over life and death, and to bring us back to God.
